The Dos and Don’ts of hotel accommodation!

This is such a great feeling to go on a vacation that is very well planned by a professional holiday planner who has already arranged for your traveling, accommodation, and food. But if you are doing all this at your own, you better be cautious of a couple of things that could be risky enough to cost you harm of valuables or even yourself. Yes, we are talking about making wise and well-thought decisions. No matter if you ar5e traveling abroad or right within the country in some lesser familiar place, finding the right hotel may always be a challenge. There have been several cases in the recent past where tons of disturbing incidents happened to the visitors. At the very first step, the big name hotels do not let the news be leaked to the media as they have links with police and media as well, that is why we do not hear very often about such news relating tom hotel thefts and random mishaps. We do not intend to make you scared; rather we just want you to stay safe and protected.

Before signing in to some hotel no matter how big or small it is, even referred by your travel and tours guide, here are some of the tips that would help you ensure your personal safety and the safety of your valuables.

Research is the key!

This is an age of internet where literally the whole world has shrunk to mere fingertips of yours. Despite having such a luxury, if you do no not make a productive use of this facility then you really need help I guess, pardon me but this is truth. Always go to a well-researched hotel, read the detailed reviews and testimonials, visit their website and know about all the services and rates as well. if you find even a single negative comment, especially regarding the security, DO NOT go there. Just as simple as that.

Be prepared

No matter if you are traveling abroad or within your country, the formalities of checking in to almost all the hotel accommodations are more or less the same. So make sure to get your documents and ids including passport photocopied, especially while traveling abroad. If you are within your country, your ID would simply be enough.

While checking in the hotel room, ask the front desk staff to let you know about your room number in person, not loudly. Ask them to provide you with the room number in the written form or you may find it at your own by the room number printed on the door key that would be handed over to you.

What to do with valuables?

Well, valuables are certainly so much valued that you don’t want to lose them, right? So as a first priority, the best possible thing to do is to DON’T bring them! And in case, if you are supposed to bring them along, it is better to carry them with you when you leave the room for any purpose. Staff may have a spare key of your room, even the safes that they charge for are not that much safe at all.
